Mira Rajput Kapoor, wife of actor Shahid Kapoor, announced the launch of her skincare company Akind on Wednesday.
“A type of care. A state of joy. You are a kind of person. Welcome to Akind, since, like you, your skin is unique,” Mira wrote on Instagram, following a video describing the brand’s aim.
“We all have a skin type, but no one tells us about our skin’s modes. You know how it feels when you’ve been wearing makeup all day and your skin needs to breathe? Start with a clean slate. When you have a flare-up and your skin requires some TLC, use something soft to help it recover. There is a lot of advice out there.
But here’s a clever idea: try turning off the noise and listening to your skin, giving it what it requires. “After all, just like you, your skin is unique,” Mira adds in the video.
Mira joins other celebrities who have their own makeup and skincare lines, like Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, and Kriti Sanon. Deepika’s self-care brand is called Tira, and Kriti Sanon’s skincare line is called Hyphen. In 2019, Katrina Kaif debuted her makeup line, Kay Beauty.
Shahid and Mira married on July 7, 2015, in Gurgaon. They welcomed their daughter Misha in August 2016 and son Zain in September of 2018.
On Wednesday, Reliance Retail’s beauty retail platform Tira announced the debut of its skincare brand, ‘Akind’. Mira Kapoor co-founded Akind, which was unveiled at Tira’s flagship store on Jio World Drive in Mumbai.
Tira, India’s premium beauty destination, will stock the brand both online and in-store. The skincare brand wants to help people accomplish their skincare objectives.
Each product in the Akind range has a different purpose in improving skin barrier health and is divided into three categories: BUILD, BALANCE, and DEFENCE.
The BUILD line, which includes the Clean Slate Hydrating Cleanser, the On Cloud Nine Lightweight Moisturizer, and the Sleep Tight Firming Serum, aims to repair and restore the skin barrier to its natural form.
The BALANCE line, which includes the Fresh Start Oil-Free Balancing Cleanser, the Bounce Back Soothing and Purifying Toner, and the Get Even Everyday Multi-Active Serum, helps keep the skin barrier in a soft, balanced state, resulting in a healthy, lit-from-within radiance.
