JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation (JIIF) hosted the second season of “JITO Shark Angels (JSA),” a live on-stage funding event that featured women entrepreneurs and investors. The event took place at JITO Connect 2023 in Jaipur and was organized in association with the JITO Ladies Wing. The unique aspect of JSA Season 2 was that all the sharks (investors) were women, and the startups pitching for funding were led by women. The goal of the event was to unlock the potential of women in the entrepreneurial landscape.
Five women-led startups showcased their innovations at the event, covering areas such as sustainable solutions, consumer products, creative solutions, cutting-edge technology, and fashion innovation. The panel of women investors, known as sharks, included Nikita Jain, Saloni Shah, Shekha Haran Bhandari, and Rashi Benara. The event saw a commitment of INR 2 crores from the panel of sharks to support women-led startups.
JITO Shark Angels Season 2 builds upon the success of Season 1, where 41 companies presented their ideas to a live audience, resulting in a total commitment of funds exceeding INR 21 crores to over 25 companies. The inaugural season featured investors from the Jain community and took place in different cities, catering to diverse communities.
The success of JSA Season 2 reflects a significant milestone in promoting gender diversity and empowerment in the startup ecosystem. The event aims to provide steadfast support, resources, and growth opportunities for women entrepreneurs, setting a new standard for inclusive funding events.
