The SHe-Box portal is a significant advancement in the government’s ongoing efforts to safeguard women in the workplace, according to a statement. Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi launched the platform on Thursday to address and manage sexual harassment complaints in workplaces.
The SHe-Box portal represents an important step forward in the government’s continuous efforts to protect women in the workplace, according to a ministry statement.
The inaugural event in Delhi also featured the unveiling of a redesigned government website.
The ministry stated that the portal would serve as a centralized repository for information pertaining to internal and local committees around the country, encompassing both the government and commercial sectors.
The portal will enable women to make complaints, track their status, and ensure that their problems are resolved in a timely way.
It also includes a designated nodal officer to allow for real-time monitoring of complaints, resulting in a more efficient and reliable redressal process, according to the release. Annapurna Devi addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of the initiative in establishing a more secure and inclusive working environment for women.
“This project is a key step toward creating a more efficient and secure platform for processing workplace sexual harassment accusations. It demonstrates the government’s commitment to establishing a safer and more inclusive working environment for women throughout India,” she stated.
The inauguration of the SHe-Box portal is in line with the government’s bigger vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, which places a significant emphasis on women-led development, according to the statement.
